Eruption (Japanese: ふんか Eruption) is a damage-dealing Fire-type move introduced in Generation III.
Effect
Eruption does damage proportionately based on the user's HP. This move's base power reduces as the user's HP reduces and is calculated by the formula:
File:Eruption Water Spout formula.png
Hence, at maximum HP (100% HP), the move's base power would be 150.
In a Double Battle, Eruption will hit both opponents. In a Triple Battle, Eruption will only hit opposing adjacent Pokémon.
Eruption will also destroy round rocks found in the background of battles.
Eruption can be used as part of a Pokémon Contest combination, with the user gaining an extra appeal point if either the move Earthquake or Sunny Day was used in the prior turn.
