A very appealing move, but after using this move, the user is more easily startled.

Eruption (Japanese: ふんか Eruption) is a damage-dealing Fire-type move introduced in Generation III.

Effect

Eruption does damage proportionately based on the user's HP. This move's base power reduces as the user's HP reduces and is calculated by the formula:

File:Eruption Water Spout formula.png

Hence, at maximum HP (100% HP), the move's base power would be 150.

In a Double Battle, Eruption will hit both opponents. In a Triple Battle, Eruption will only hit opposing adjacent Pokémon.

Eruption will also destroy round rocks found in the background of battles.

Description

Games Description
RSEColoXD The higher the user's HP, the more damage caused.
FRLG The higher the user's HP, the more powerful this attack becomes.
DPPtHGSS The user attacks in an explosive fury. The lower the user's HP, the less powerful this attack becomes.
BWB2W2 The user attacks the opposing team with explosive fury. The lower the user's HP, the less powerful this attack becomes.
XYORAS The user attacks opposing Pokémon with explosive fury. The lower the user's HP, the lower the move's power.
