This card was included in the English Base Set as a Trainer card, first released in the Japanese Expansion Pack, with artwork by Keiji Kinebuchi. This print was later reprinted in the English Base Set 2 expansion, the Japanese Nivi City Gym, Tamamushi City Gym, and Yamabuki City Gym Theme Decks, both decks of the Japanese Quick Starter Gift Set, and in the English Legendary Collection expansion.

It was later reclassified in the English Black & White expansion as an Item card with new artwork by Kent Kanetsuna, originating from the Japanese Beginning Set and Black Collection. It was later reprinted in the Japanese Beginning Set + and Beginning Set Pikachu Version rereleases of the original Black & White Beginning Set, and in the English Plasma Blast expansion, originating from the Japanese Blastoise + Kyurem-EX Combo Deck.
