Release information

This card was reprinted in the VS (Japan only) and EX Deoxys sets. The EX Deoxys print of the card tweaks the wording to read as follows: Template:Trainer Text Additionally, the Expedition Base Set card Power Charge bore the name Energy Charge when printed in France, Portugal, Brazil, and Spain.

Trivia

Due to the fact that this card's name and, at the time of Power Charge's original Expedition release, effect slightly differed from Power Charge, it was ruled that "Energy Charge" and "Power Charge" were not the same card in the English-language printings. A similar situation would later affect Moo-Moo Milk from Neo Genesis and Moomoo Milk from HeartGold & SoulSilver, where slight differences in name and effect resulted in a ruling saying they were two different cards.
