Empoleon has been featured on 16 different cards since it debuted in the Diamond & Pearl expansion of the Pokémon Trading Card Game. Empoleon cards are normally Water-type or Metal-type Stage 2 Pokémon. In Japan, Empoleon was featured in the Entry Pack released in October 2006, as well as the Entry Pack '08 released in November 2007. Outside of Japan, Empoleon was featured in the TCG World Championships 2007 Swift Empoleon Deck released in October 2007, and the TCG World Championships 2008 Empotech Deck released in October 2008.
