Ellen

(Japanese: エレン Ellen) is a character of the day who appeared in Mild 'n Wooly.

Ellen is Mary's mother. She lives with her on a Mareep ranch in a valley between Violet City and Azalea Town. When Ash, Misty, and Brock came to visit, they were preparing for the annual Mareep Festival.

She originally seemed quite strict, scolding her daughter for letting the Mareep escape, and scaring Ash's Pikachu. She would not let Mary compete in the festival, saying she was too young to enter. However, after seeing Mary's battle abilities and strategies against Team Rocket, she changed her mind. The next morning, she presented her daughter with her old Poké Ball, and gave her permission to compete.

		Raichu
		Ellen uses her Raichu to round up the herd of Mareep at the Mareep Ranch using its Thunderbolt. It first appeared stopping the Mareep crowd around Ash's Pikachu with a Thunderbolt. It then appeared with Ellen and the flock of Mareep showing Ash and his friends how to round the Mareep up. After that, it was seen helping getting the Mareep up the mountain to get their coats fluffy from the lightning. When Team Rocket showed up to capture the Mareep, it launched a Thunderbolt, though it was merely absorbed by Team Rocket's special absorbtion panel. It tried again, and this time the panel shorted circuits and blowed up Team Rocket's balloon, but it hurt Raichu. The next day, Raichu was in the audience of the Mareep Festival, cheering for Mary and her Mareep, Fluffy. Raichu's only known move is Thunderbolt.

		Mareep (multiple)
		Ellen has many Mareep which live on Ellen's ranch. They first appeared when they suddenly crowded Ash's Pikachu. Pikachu launched a Thunder Shock, making the Mareep's coats go fluffy. Ellen's Raichu then showed up stop them. They were then rounded up by Ash, Pikachu and Raichu. That night, they were taken up to the mountain so they could absorb electricity to make their coats look beautiful. Suddenly, Team Rocket attacked and captured all of the Mareep in a net, but Raichu was able to get them free. The flock sent multiple volts of electricity to Mary's Mareep, Fluffy. This made it supercharged and Fluffy was able to send Team Rocket blasting off. Mareep's known moves are Thunder Shock and Growl.

• Ellen uses a similar method as Ethan for rounding up a group of Electric Pokémon by using another Electric type's electricity to do so.
