Elekid (Japanese: エレキッド Elekid) is an Electric-type Pokémon. It evolves into Electabuzz.

Biology

Physiology

Elekid is a yellow, round-bodied Pokémon. Elekid is lacking in both a tail and toes. The arms that Elekid has are bulkier than those that it's evolved form has. Elekid has two horns on top of its head that are shaped in a way that make Elekid look like a walking Powerplug.

Gender differences

None.

Special abilities

Elekid can basically know any attack Electabuzz knows, except that Elekids attack are weaker and Elekid can't learn how to to use Hyper Beam or Giga Attack.

Behavior

Elekid tend to play out in the middle of thunderstorms.

Habitat

Elekid normally live in Powerplants.

Diet

Main article: Pokémon food

Elekid mainly feed off of electrical currents.

In the anime

Elekid first appeared in Pikachu's Rescue Adventure. The little Electric Pokémon decided to assist Pikachu and co. in finding Togepi. Elekid even stood by Pikachu's side when the Electric Mouse was trying to prevent lightening from striking the Giant Tree.

Tracey showed off a sketch he made of an Elekid that was partially hidden in a bush.

Casey captured an Elekid in EP261.

In AG154, an Elekid had absorbed a high amount of lightning and was electrifying every other Pokémon in sight. The AC Powerplug Pokémon calmed down and returned to it's good old self after battling Ash's Pikachu.

Paul used an Elekid to battle Ash's Pikachu in DP003.

It loves violent thunder. The space between its horns flickers bluish-white when it is charging energy.

Elekid stores electricity in its body. If it touches metal and accidentally discharges all its built-up electricity, this Pokémon begins swinging its arms in circles to recharge itself.
Pokémon Emerald
If it touches metal and discharges the electricity it has stored in its body, an Elekid begins swinging its arms in circles to recharge itself.
