Trivia
- EX FireRed & LeafGreen went back to the Kanto region and focused solely on Generation I Pokémon. The set is named after the remake of the original Pokémon Red and Blue (Red and Green in Japan) games, Pokémon FireRed and LeafGreen.
- This was the first Japanese set not to use the ADV prefix; many people incorrectly named it ADV 5. The name Flight of Legends comes from the Legendary Birds Articuno, Zapdos and Moltres that appear as Pokémon ex in this set.
- The Half Decks released alongside the Japanese Expansion focus on the Generation I starters and their evolutions. Unlike previous half decks, which each had their own numbering system and symbol, these decks all have a collective numbering system, hence they are listed in one article rather than three. The cards contained within were also random (apart from the Pokémon depicted on the deck and its evolution stages), another change from the norm.
- The reverse-holographic design uses the same energy symbol pattern as in EX Hidden Legends, but the foil used is the same foil as the holographic rare "cosmic" design. The Pokémon type symbol(s) in the attack box are also replaced with a Poké Ball symbol.
- The secret box-topper for this set is Charmander. Three more secret cards, Articuno ex, Zapdos ex and Moltres ex appeared randomly in booster packs and received a special "fracture" holographic treatment for their English release.
- The Prerelease card for this set is Wartortle.
