Drill Run can also be used as part of a Contest Spectaculars combination, with the user gaining extra three appeal points if the move Focus Energy was used in the prior turn.

It then jumps into the air and rotates its body while charging at the opponent, stabbing the opponent with its drill-like body, or Excadrill jumps into the air and holds out its arms. It then spins its body rapidly and dives forward, stabbing the opponent with the protrusion sticking out of its head.
