The Dragon's Den (Japanese: りゅうのあな Dragon's Den) is a location in Blackthorn City in the Johto region.

The Dragon's Den (Japanese: りゅうのあな Dragon's Hole) is a location in Gold, and their Generation IV remakes.

It is inaccessible before defeating Clair in the Blackthorn Gym, as it is blocked off by a man in front of the cave, and then it must be traversed to finally obtain the Rising.
In the games
The Dragon's Den is inaccessible before defeating Clair in the Blackthorn Gym, as it is blocked off by a man in front of the cave. After defeating Clair, it must be traversed to obtain the Rising.

Many strong Trainers can be found within the cavern. The Master of the Dragon User Clan is located here, and he will quiz the player on their attitude towards and treatment of their Pokémon. If the player gives compassionate answers, in Crystal, , the player will be rewarded with a Dratini that knows ExtremeSpeed (though in generation IV this requires leaving and then returning to speak with the Master once more). Silver can be found here, contemplating his training some days of the week, and Clair will visit to reward the player with the Rising she refused to award in the Gym, as well as TM24 (TM59 in Generation IV).
In Crystal, , several Trainers can be found in the cave. The Dragon Shrine (Japanese: りゅうのほこら Dragon Hokora) is located in the south end (blocked off by a whirlpool), where the Master will quiz the player on their attitude towards and treatment of their Pokémon. After the completes the quiz, they will be rewarded with a Dratini. If they got all the answers right the first time, the Dratini will know Extreme Speed.

In HeartGold and SoulSilver, Lance and Clair will appear to challenge the player and Silver to a tag battle following the battle against Silver at Mt. Moon.
Silver can be found here contemplating his training on Days of the weeks and Days of the weeks. Clair will visit to reward the player with the Rising Badge she refused to award in the Blackthorn Gym, as well as 24 or 59. This requires completing the quiz described above. In Gold and Silver, where the Dragon Shrine is closed and everything related to it is unavailable, Clair will instead give the Rising Badge to the player after they collect the Dragon Fang. If the Dragon Fang from Dragon's Den is not obtained, but the player has one anyways, usually from trading from another Trainer, Clair will call the player a cheater and refuse to give the badge.

Items
In Pokémon HeartGold and SoulSilver, after the player battles Silver at Mt. Moon, they can participate in a Multi Battle with him against Lance and Clair here. Additionally, in these games, if the player receives the Rising Badge from Clair and then leaves the Dragon's Den with Dig, Teleport, or an Escape Rope, then they must return to her Gym in order to collect the TM.

Pokémon world locations

The Dragon's Den (Japanese: りゅうのあな Dragon's Den) is a location in Blackthorn City in the Johto region.

In the games

The Dragon's Den is inaccessible before defeating Clair in the Blackthorn Gym, as it is blocked off by a man in front of the cave. After defeating Clair, it must be traversed to obtain the Rising Badge.

In Pokémon Crystal, HeartGold and SoulSilver, several Trainers can be found in the cave. The Dragon Shrine (Japanese: りゅうのほこら Dragon Shrine) is located in the south end (blocked off by a whirlpool), where the Master will quiz the player on their attitude towards and treatment of their Pokémon. After the completes the quiz, they will be rewarded with a Dratini. If they got all the answers right the first time, the Dratini will know ExtremeSpeed.

Silver can be found here contemplating his training on Tuesdays and Thursdays. Clair will visit to reward the player with the Rising Badge she refused to award in the Blackthorn Gym, as well as TM24 (DragonBreath)GSC or TM59 (Dragon Pulse)HGSS. This requires completing the quiz described above. In Pokémon Gold and Silver, where the Dragon Shrine is closed and everything related to it is unavailable, Clair will instead give the Rising Badge to the player after they collect the Dragon Fang. If the Dragon Fang from Dragon's Den is not obtained, but the player has one anyways, usually from trading from another Trainer, Clair will call the player a cheater and refuse to give the badge.
