Defender (Japanese: ディフェンダー Defender) is a Trainer. It is part of the Base Set.
Card text
| Attach Defender to 1 of your Pokémon. At the end of your opponent's next turn, discard Defender. Damage done to that Pokémon by attacks is reduced by 20 (after applying Weakness and Resistance). |
Release information
This card was reprinted in the Base Set 2 reprint set, which was only released outside of Japan.

Origin
Defender is the Japanese name of X Defend, an item in the Pokémon games. The Japanese name of the item was used for the English card by mistake.
