Dancer (Japanese: おどりこ Dancer) is an Ability introduced in Generation VII. It is the signature Ability of Oricorio.
Effect
In battle
When another Pokémon uses a dancing move, a Pokémon with the Ability Dancer will immediately use that move as well without using up its turn. It will not activate on a move copied by another Pokémon with Dancer.
Dancer is able to copy a status dancing move that has been powered up by a Z-Crystal into its corresponding Z-Move, however the Dancer Pokémon copies the regular version of the move and does not gain the additional Z-Power effect.
If the Pokémon with Dancer is confused, it may hurt itself instead of copying the move, even if it is protected by a move like Protect or Mat Block. If the Pokémon with Dancer is hit with Fake Out, it will flinch when it attempts to copy the move. A Pokémon that is locked into a consecutively executed move (such as Outrage) will still try to copy the move, but will fail.
Lunar Dance is copied after the original user fainted. If a Pokémon copies Petal Dance via Dancer, it will not be locked into the move. If the Pokémon with Dancer is under the effect of Taunt, it will still try to copy a status dancing move, but will fail.
