• Although Hippopotas weighs 109.1 lbs. (49.5 kg), Ash is able to carry it in his arms, or on his head, without apparent difficulty, though this would not be the first that a Pokémon's weight in the anime differs from that in the game.
• Many fans speculated that Ash would capture Hippopotas here, yet it never happened. With hopes rising high, some say if this episode wasn't a filler episode, then this Hippopotas will make a return sometime.
