Cursed Body (Japanese: のろわれボディ Cursed Body) is an Ability introduced in Generation V. All Pokémon that have this Ability are Ghost types.

Effect

In battle

If the Pokémon with this Ability is hit by an opponent's damaging move, Cursed Body has a 30% chance of disabling that move for 3 turns (including the turn Cursed Body activates). Cursed Body can activate even if the attacker is behind a substitute or if the Pokémon with Cursed Body is knocked out, but will not activate if the Pokémon with Cursed Body is behind a substitute.

If Cursed Body disables a multi-strike move before it has finished all of its hits, it will not prevent the other hits from being executed. Cursed Body can disable a move that calls another move if the called move was dealing damage.

Cursed Body can disable a Z-Move even though they are only able to be used once per battle. This has no effect on the original move that was upgraded into the Z-Move.

Outside of battle

Cursed Body has no effect outside of battle.
