Release Information
This card was released as a promotional card. Both the Japanese and English versions were originally released as part of a Nintendo 64 bundle package. Later Japanese versions were released as part of the "Pokémon Best Collection" CD, and later English versions were available through the Pokémon League in 2000.
Trivia
- The Cool Porygon included in the "Pokémon Best Collection" CD has the Pikachu Records logo in place of an Expansion symbol.
- Later English versions of Cool Porygon have a smaller black star symbol than those released when it was first printed.
Origin
Texture Magic is an amalgamation of Conversion and Conversion 2, both moves in the Pokémon games that Porygon can learn. 3-D Attack is similar to Tri Attack, also a move that Porygon can learn. The card's Pokédex entry comes from Pokémon Red and Blue.
