The Cool [[condition]] is raised by [[Poffin]] or [[Pokéblock]]s made with spicy-flavored [[Berry|Berries]]. Pokémon with [[nature]]s that boost physical Attack - Lonely, Brave, Adamant, and Naughty - get the most benefit from spicy Berries, so they will be the easiest to raise for a Cool Contest.
When competing in the Cool category, a Pokémon with an enhanced Coolness will score higher in the {{DL|Pokémon Contest|primary judging}} of a [[Pokémon Contest]] and the [[Visual Competition]] of a [[Pokémon Super Contest]]. The Cool condition, also called Coolness (Japanese: かっこよさ Coolness), is one of the five different Contest conditions.

Characteristics

A Pokémon will have its Cool condition raised when fed Pokéblocks or Poffins made with Berries that have a spicy flavor. Pokémon with Natures that boost Attack—Lonely, Brave, Adamant, and Naughty—get the most benefit from spicy-tasting Berries, as a result, they are the easiest to raise for a Coolness Contest.

When competing in the Cool category, a Pokémon with an enhanced Coolness will score higher in the primary judging of a Pokémon Contest and the Visual Competition of a Pokémon Super Contest. This can also be assisted with the use of the Red Scarf. Many Fighting-, Flying-, Electric-, and Dragon-type moves will become Cool moves when used in Contests, but moves from other types may display Coolness as well.

During a Coolness Contest, the audience will react as follows:

Awards

At the end of a Coolness Contest, the winning Pokémon will receive a Contest Ribbon. Additionally, in Pokémon Diamond, Pearl, and Platinum, Coordinators are awarded special Accessories the first time they win the Contest. Different Ribbons and Accessories are awarded for winning in each of the four ranks.
