(Timing is the same as Shaymin. Makes sense that "intense sunlight" would be in the daytime as considered by the games.)

Cherrim (Japanese: チェリム Cherrim) is a Template:Type2 Pokémon.

It evolves from Cherubi starting at level 25.

Cherrim changes appearance in sunny weather.

Biology

Physiology

Cherrim has two different forms, both of which are dependent on the weather (a trait that is also found in Castform). During normal weather conditions, it appears as two crossing purple petals with a short purple stem, a green leafy sepal covering, and two deep pink feet; its eyes appear to be near its legs in this form. When there is strong sunlight, it appears to have a skirt and hair made of pink cherry-blossom petals. Additionally, two berry-like orbs, resembling cherry-shaped hair ornaments, adorn its head.

Gender differences

None.

Special abilities

Behavior

Cherrim is said to release all of its pent up anger when it opens. Because of this, it is continuously happy until it closes again.

Trivia

  • Cherrim is one of the only two Pokémon to change its form depending on the weather, the other being Castform.
  • Cherrim's Sunshine form has animated sprites; however, it cannot be released from a Poké Ball directly into battle. Therefore, the animation is never seen.
  • Cherrim's Overcast form is its 'default' form.

Origin

It appears that Cherrim is based on cherry blossoms.

Name origin

Cherrim's named is based off the English words cherry and cherubim or blossom.

In other languages

  • German: Kinoso
  • French: Ceriflor - From cerise (cherry) and flora.
  • Korean: 체리꼬 Cherikkou - From 체리 (cherry) and 꽃 kkout (flower).
  • Chinese: 櫻花兒
