Abilities in this category affect the user in a negative way during battle, and should generally be avoided or switched with an opponent's Ability, unless the Pokémon has a move that produces an unusual effect, such as Switcheroo with Klutz, or when one desires the positive part of the Ability (such as Dry Skin's immunity to Water). Some of these Abilities, such as Normalize, can be considered to be positive under certain conditions.
