Caroline (Japanese: ミツコ Mitsuko) is the mother of May and Max, and wife of Norman.
Caroline is May's biggest supporter, and traveled all the way to the Hoenn Grand Festival to support her daughter in her contests.
For a while, Caroline was mad at her husband because he wasn't spending enough time with her and too much time with Nurse Joy. As it turns out, Nurse Joy was helping Norman set up a fireworks display for his and Caroline's anniversary.
She is probably a Pokémon Trainer, as in a flashback she is seen holding a Poké Ball, but what she trained remains a mystery.
Pokémon
When May went to the Hoenn Battle Frontier, she left Skitty and Beautifly in the care of her parents. However, when May made her first appearances since leaving for Johto, to participate in the Wallace Cup, there was evidence that all seven of her Pokémon were with her.
Trivia
- Her Japanese name, Mitsuko, can either mean child full of blessings or shining child.
- Like Ash's mother and Dawn's mother, her Japanese name ends in コ ko.
- During the time May was surrounded by Tentacool when she was younger, Caroline thought she was a Tentacool and tried to catch her in a Poké Ball.
