The captain is a recurring character who appeared in Cilan and the Case of the Purrloin Witness! and Best Wishes Until We Meet Again!. He was not given a name in the Japanese version or dub.
He is in charge of the cruise ship that Ash, Iris, and Cilan boarded while traveling from Honey Island to Scalchop Island. He went to interrogate a business man, Mr. Shaw, when the security cameras showed him inside Mrs. Ripple's room just after one of her rare jewels was stolen. With the help of a sailor assistant, the captain showed the security recording to Mr. Shaw, who desperately declared himself innocent; so he then decided to continue the investigation.
