A comment just made by TTE on another page about how he wishes people would be more enthusiastic about featuring articles reminded me of this. Are we ever going to make one of these article featured? Ultimately this is just a way for users to point out pages to the people in charge; the people in charge are the ones who actually decide whether or not to accept or reject a nomination.
