Bulbapedia has recently developed a Userspace policy that makes clear how much and what type of content is allowed in Userspace pages. For the case of simplicity, the "rules" are formatted in lists.

Number of edits and Subsequent Warnings

This section clarifies the number of edits a user may make within a given time frame and/or conditions that must be met to trigger a notice, and the consequences they will suffer if they go over the designated limit.

  • One - Three edits in a day - (none)
  • Four edits in a day - First warning
  • Disregard* for the first warning - Second warning
  • Disregard* for the second warning - Third warning
  • Disregard* for the third warning - Change in group membership from (none) to abuse for one month. If no Bureaucrat is available to switch the user's rights, an administrator is authorized to protect the User's page and any subpages until the offender's group rights can be changed.
  • Repeated offenses - Indefinite change in group membership from (none) to abuse. If no Bureaucrat is available, see above.

* Disregard constitutes blatant disregard for the previous warning, i.e. continuing to edit the userspace after being warned.

In addition, users making three edits multiple days in a row will be considered a mockery of the rules, and the offending user will be penalized.

Content

This is fairly standard. Obviously, no pornographic material is allowed in any form, as this is a website often visited by children. Additionally, none of the following are tolerated in any way, shape, or form.

  • Games (Such as "find the picture with the subheader under it")
  • Missions (Such as "Go through the 'maze' of subpages to reach the end and find the Shiny Psyduck!")
  • Riddles (Self-explanatory)
  • FanFiction (There are plenty of other websites on the internet devoted to FanFiction)
  • Anything else deemed inappropriate by the Editorial board will be deleted as well. If you feel your material was taken down unreasonably or in error, contact whoever did it for their reasoning. Contact an administrator if you want to know if something not specified here is allowed or not.

Other users' userspaces

Unless prior permission is given, users are typically not allowed to edit one another's pages. Instances in which this is permitted include, but are not limited to, broken links that appear on the wanted pages, duplicate images on the Archives, uncategorizing a userpage categorized in a category it should clearly not be in, reverting vandalism, etc. If a change you wish to make to another user's page does not fall under one of the above categories, ask an administrator or that user for permission.
