A stub is a very short article, often a paragraph or less, containing an insufficient amount of information. You can help Bulbapedia by finding stubs and editing them, adding more information, and thereby expanding them. As Bulbapedia is a collaborative encyclopedia, any user can contribute to any article.

The page you were previously visiting is probably a stub. You can help Bulbapedia grow by clicking the "back" button on your browser and then expanding that page.

If you create an article that is a stub, please put this at the end of the article: {{stub}}. Doing so will display this message:

Bulbapedia logo.png This article is a stub. You can help Bulbapedia by expanding it.

If you saw that message on the article, but the article is developed well beyond stub status, please feel free to remove the tag. If the article is much longer than a stub but still incomplete, rather than marking it as a stub, please add the {{incomplete}} template to the beginning of the article.

There are different stub messages and categories for different types of articles:

  • {{stub|Game}} - game-related articles
  • {{stub|Anime}} - anime-related articles
  • {{stub|Manga}} - manga-related articles
  • {{stub|Location}} - location articles
  • {{stub|Shipping}} - shipping-related articles
  • {{stub|Music}} - music articles
  • {{stub|TCG}} - TCG-related articles
  • {{stub|TFG}} - TFG-related articles
  • {{stub|Glitch}} - glitch-related articles
  • {{stub|Character|Class}} - Trainer class-related articles
  • {{stub|Item}} - Item articles
  • {{stub|Character}} - character articles

Featured stubs

In order to improve Bulbapedia, three random stubs, or the featured stubs, are featured on the Main Page. They are three chosen articles that need improvement in some way: they may not necessarily be stubs--they could be incomplete articles or articles needing clean up, for instance. Any user is allowed to improve the article, and it is appreciated if you decide to do so; however, only administrators can remove the improvement notices. Any administrator can remove the notices at any time, but they must switch the articles on the main page.
