Bugsy's Scyther (Japanese: ツクシのストライク Tsukushi's Strike) is Bugsy's main Pokémon in the anime and games.

In the anime

It is voiced by Katsuyuki Konishi in the Japanese version and by Eric Stuart in the English dub.

Scyther appeared in Gettin' The Bugs Out where it was used in a gym battle against Ash Ketchum. With impressive speed and a powerful attack, it is Bugsy's strongest Pokémon. It defeated Ash's Pikachu easily with a powerful Slash attack.

It is a exceptional fighter as it can hold its own against Template:Type2s by using Swords Dance to counter fire attacks. Using this technique, it almost defeated Ash's Cyndaquil by deflecting all of its fire attacks.

But thanks to Ash's strategy, Cyndaquil gained the upper hand. Instead of attacking horizontally, it jumped above Scyther and used Flamethrower. Scyther was unable to defend itself from the attack and it was knocked out of the battle.

Moves used

In the games

As mentioned above, Scyther is also Bugsy's main Pokémon in the games. Just like Bugsy, it only appears in Gold, Silver, and Crystal, the Generation II games.
