Bronzor (Japanese: ドーミラー Dohmirror) is a dual-type Steel/Psychic Pokémon.

It evolves into Bronzong starting at level 33.

Biology

Physiology

It has a circular body with two eyes and bumps around its body. Despite being based off a bronze mirror, it is colored blue instead of brown. This, however, may be due to the blue patina that bronze forms with age. It also has a crest resembling an herb on its back.

Gender differences

Bronzor is a genderless species.

Special abilities

Behavior

Habitat

It was first seen in ancient tombs.

Bronzor in the anime

Bronzor made a small appearance in The Rise of Darkrai. It was battling a Gible in the beginning and was one of the many Pokémon affected by Darkrai's Dark Void.

Bronzor made its anime debut in Journey to the Unown!, where it appeared under the ownership of Saturn.

Bronzor appeared again in Losing Its Lustrous and Double Team Turnover! under the ownership of both Saturn and Mars. Both, however, were easily defeated by Cynthia's Garchomp.

In Dealing With Defensive Types! it was used by Byron in a gym battle against Ash.

In the manga

Bronzor appears in Pokémon Adventures, in the Diamond & Pearl chapter.

Trivia

  • Each commander of Team Galactic has a Bronzor.
  • Despite being blue, it is listed in the green category. This also applies to its evolution.
    • A possible explanation is, in the Japanese viewpoint, some shades of blue are referred to as green, and vice-versa.
    • Oddly enough, its shiny color is green.
  • Despite being based on a mirror, Bronzor can't learn Mirror Shot or Mirror Coat.

Origin

Bronzor is based on a 銅鏡 dōkyō, or bronze mirror.

Name origin

Bronzor's name comes from "bronze" and "mirror". Dohmirror is a mix of 銅鏡 dōkyō (meaning steel mirror) and "mirror".

In other languages

  • German: Bronzel - From bronze and Spiegel (mirror).
  • French: Archeomire - From archeo- (Greek for "ancient") and miroir (mirror).
  • Korean: 동미러 Dongmireo
