Brick Break (Japanese: かわらわり Tile Break) is a damage-dealing Template:Type2 move introduced in Generation III.
Brick Break removes Light Screen and Reflect and the effects they cause before inflicting damage. It will remove Light Screen and Reflect even if Brick Break misses or targets a Template:Type2 Pokémon.
In the anime
- In a Pokémon Contest, because there is no target Pokémon, Brick Break destroys a small glass wall instead.
- Contrary to popular belief, Brick Break does not need to be used by the hands. This is shown because it can be learned by Bonsly and Pupitar, who don't have any arms.
- The only Pokémon that can learn Brick Break by level-up are of either the Bug or Fighting type.
