Trivia

  • Bouffalant is the only bovine Pokémon who can be of either gender. The others, Miltank and Tauros, can only be female and male, respectively.

Origin

Bouffalant is based on a buffalo; specifically, an American Bison. However, the horns more closely resemble those of the African Water Buffalo. The fur on its head resembles an afro.

Name origin

Bouffalant is possibly a combination of buffalo, bouffant and galant. Buffalon is derived from バッファロー buffalo, アフロ afro and bison.
