A Boss Trainer (Japanese: ボストレーナー Boss Trainer) is a type of Pokémon Trainer that first debuted in the Generation V games Pokémon Black and White 2. They are the leaders of each section of Black Tower (in Black City) or White Treehollow (in White Forest).

Boss Trainers do not have fixed sprites like most other Trainer classes, instead appearing as other classes with the Boss Trainer title. They have Pokémon at slightly higher levels and more powerful Pokémon than the other Trainers in the Area; the Bosses of later areas even use legendary Pokémon. One notable Boss Trainer is Benga, Alder's grandson, who is the leader of the tenth and final section of the facility.

Trivia

  • Each Boss Trainer has Pokémon with 3 levels more and $600 more than previous Trainer in Area order.
  • With exception of Benga, each Boss Trainer's first letter in their name based on the alphabetical order in each Area order. In the Japanese version, their first letter based on the katakana in vowel "a" column order instead.
