Boninville is an anime-exclusive town in Johto that was visited by Ash, Brock and Misty in the episode Beauty and the Breeder. Every once in a while, a Pokémon Beauty Contest is held there. In the anime, Ash, Brock and Misty met up with an old friend from which Brock got his Vulpix, Susie, who wanted to enter the contest. Brock also wanted to enter and they decided to go as a couple with Brock's Vulpix. Another Pokémon Breeder and a friend of Susie's, Zane, also entered the contest with his Ninetales.
Boninville is also the place where Brock returned Vulpix to Susie.
