Blue's Golduck (Japanese: グリーンのゴルダック Green's Golduck) is one of the Pokémon that Blue owns in the Pokémon Adventures manga.

History

Blue and his Golduck

Golduck first made his appearance in A Tale of Ninetales, where an accident caused Red and Blue to switch parties, with Golduck ending up with Red. During his stay on Red's team, he, along with the rest of Blue's party, experienced Red's positive style of training, as opposed to Blue's fiercer one. When the Pokémon were returned to their respective Trainers, Blue's Pokémon ended up friendlier to Blue as a result of this type of training.

Golduck later appeared during the battle against Team Rocket, where he used his psychic powers to locate the Pokémon who was responsible for setting up a barrier around Saffron City, preventing access to the city. Using this information, Red and Pika defeated the Pokémon, turning the barriers off.

In the Yellow arc, Golduck was mainly used to transport Blue across water. He was later used in battle against Agatha, and was able to defeat her Arbok. As seen in a flashback, he was used in a battle against the same Elite Four member two years prior, where he channeled Blue's thoughts to his Pokédex while he was trap in a Dream Eater and had to distract her Gengar. He also showcased the ability to make a barricade of water using his Hydro Pump attack, which was used earlier to capture a Lapras.

Golduck was used during Blue's battle with Red in order to learn the ultimate moves from Ultima. During the battle, he caused heavy damage to Gyara, but was defeated by Snor when he used Earthquake while Golduck was digging. Golduck was later used against Trainer Tower A.I., known as "R", but was knocked back and was unable to attack.

After Giovanni was defeated and Carr sent the flying airship containing him, his son, his loyal subordinates and enemies crashing, Golduck and Blasty used Hydro Pump to try to keep the airship in place with Rhydon using Megahorn and Silver's Pokémon would join the fray. However, ultimately, it was Mew who saved it from crashing.
