The Bird-type refers to a glitch type in the Generation I games. For information on the elemental type given to bird-like Pokémon, please see Flying (type)

The Bird type is an element type given to two Glitch Pokémon.

This type only exists due to a programming oversight. It is thought that Bird was the "Beta" name for the Flying-type, as this was allegedly seen in beta versions of the Generation I games.

For some reason, the Bird type stayed in the game coding in the second generation.

When hacked to be an functional move in game, it delals neutral demage to all Pokémon (and have neutral resistions)
