He can be battled after the player has defeated 99 Trainers at [[Mt. Battle]]. Just like the {{tc|Mt.BtlMaster|Mount Battle Master}} in [[Pokémon Colosseum]], [[Somek]] (who has the same Japanese name as him, and looks nearly the same as him, save for the mustache), he appears as a huge {{tc|Bodybuilder}}. After his defeat he may offer the player character the opportunity to pick one of the three [[Johto]] [[Starter Pokémon]]: {{p|Chikorita}}, {{p|Cyndaquil}} or {{p|Totodile}} and he may also award Mt. Battle Ribbons for the Pokémon used in the fight. His Pokémon team is one of the strongest in the entire game, as all his Pokémon are at level 70. His strategy is to pick lots of legendaries and psuedo-legendaries and use Earthquake a lot to Pokemon that are immune to it such as Salamence and Latios.

Battlus gives one of these Johto starters away if the player defeats him after conquering the whole mountain without cutting through any floors or touching their PC in the rest zones. To get the other two as well, the player has to battle the whole [[Mt. Battle]] again. Somek (Japanese: バトラス Battlus) is the final Trainer of Mt. Battle in Pokémon Colosseum. He is known as the Mt. Battle Master. Located at the lofty heights on the top of the volcanic mountain on a huge gray platform, there is a long distance between Zone 100 and the zone before it, Zone 99. He is a huge, muscular Bodybuilder with one of the strongest teams in Story Mode. Upon being defeated by Wes he gives him 1200 Poké Coupons but tells him not to be content with his current level of training and always strive to be better.
