The Battle Tower in Sinnoh is located in the Battle Zone in Diamond and Pearl and the Battle Frontier in Platinum. The player is allowed access to the Battle Tower only after defeating the Elite Four and going to the Snowpoint City Harbor. Trainers all over the northeastern island speak of the Battle Tower, hailing it as the the ultimate test for serious trainers. It is home to several different challenges. Palmer, Pearl's father, is the Tower Tycoon here.

Challenges

The first of these challenges is the standard single battle in which the challenger must engage in seven three on three battles in a row. Winning a set of seven battles earns the player Battle Points. The second of these challenges follows the same layout as the standard single battle but are rather conducted as double battles.

Finally, multi battles can be conducted, following the format found in the other two challenges. Before the challenge begins, players can choose among Riley, Cheryl, Buck, Mira, and Marley as their partner. Each partner specializes in a different Pokémon stat. One can also use the DS's wireless function to partner up with a friend.

Tower Tycoon

After winning 21 and 49 battles consecutively in the Single Battle Room, Tower Tycoon Palmer will offer the player a challenge. He will acknowledge him or her as the friend of their rival and ask for a battle. Defeating him yields additional BP.

Restrictions

Regardless of what challenge is taken, the following Pokémon are not allowed:

Wi-Fi Features

In addition, one of the receptionists allows the player to randomly download a team using the Nintendo Wi-Fi Connection, which will then begin to appear in the player's Battle Tower challenges. One can also upload their team to the database to be downloaded by another player.

Prizes

Much like the Battle Frontier in Hoenn, the Battle Tower uses Battle Points which can be redeemed for prizes in the large building in front of the Battle Tower. The following items are offered as prizes:
