- Cheren's theme, as well as the Unova wild battle music, Unova gym battle music, and along with Unova trainer battle music are used as background music.
- This episode marks the second time that Ash has captured a Pokémon with a full party. The first time this happened was back in Kanto when Ash captured Krabby in Mystery at the Lighthouse, which aired over thirteen-and-a-half years ago.
- This episode also reveals that if a Trainer captures a new Pokémon while having a full party, then the Poké Ball will seal itself until the Trainer either deposits it or another Pokémon in the party.
