Azalea Town (Japanese: ? Hiwada Town) is located in the southern peninsula of Johto. It's motto is "Where People and Pokémon Live in Happy Harmony!"

When the main character of Pokémon Silver, Pokémon Gold, and Pokémon Crystal arrives in the town, the townspeople are in an uproar because the local population of Slowpoke have vanished. According to legends in the town, the Yawn of a Slowpoke causes rain. 400 years ago, a drought in Azalea Town eneded right when a Slowpoke yawned.

The Slowpoke were being held captive in the Slowpoke Well by Team Rocket. Team Rocket was cutting off the Slowpoke's tails and selling them as delicacies.

After Team Rocket is defeated, the Slowpoke return and can be found all over the town.

Azalea Town is also famous for Kurt, a blacksmith who makes custom Poké Balls out of Apricots.

Also in the town is a Charcoal Kiln, where a family uses a Farfetch'd to Cut wood in Ilex Forest so that Charcoal can be made.

Bugsy is the Gym Leader of Azalea. He specializes in Bug-type Pokémon.

Route 33 leads out of the town to the east. The Ilex Forest is adjacent to the town in the west.
