This book follows the plot of ''[[EP046|Attack of the Prehistoric Pokémon]]''. {{ash}}, [[Misty]], and [[Brock]] arrive in [[Grandpa Canyon]] while a [[fossil]] dig is underway. Ash and his friends decide to join, hoping to dig up a rare Pokémon. They bump into {{Gary}}. Soon, they discover that [[Team Rocket]] plans to blow up the canyon and take all the fossils for themselves. In an attempt to diffuse the dynamite, {{AP|Pikachu}} accidentally explodes it instead, and Ash, Pikachu, Jessie, James, and {{MTR}} become trapped inside a small cave. When trying to escape, they discover that they are sharing the cave with {{p|Omanyte}}, {{p|Omastar}}, {{p|Kabuto}}, {{p|Kabutops}}, and {{p|Aerodactyl}}. Aerodactyl picks up Ash and bursts out of the cave. {{p|Charmeleon}} decides to fight Aerodactyl and ends up evolving into {{AP|Charizard}} to chase him through the sky. This book follows the plot of Attack of the Prehistoric Pokémon. Ash, Misty, and Brock arrive in Grandpa Canyon while a fossil dig is underway. Ash and his friends decide to join, hoping to dig up a rare Pokémon. They bump into Gary. Soon, they discover that Team Rocket plans to blow up the canyon and take all the fossils for themselves. In an attempt to diffuse the dynamite, Pikachu accidentally explodes it instead, and Ash, Pikachu, Jessie, James, and Meowth become trapped inside a small cave. When trying to escape, they discover that they are sharing the cave with Omanyte, Omastar, Kabuto, Kabutops, and Aerodactyl. Aerodactyl picks up Ash and bursts out of the cave. Charmeleon decides to fight Aerodactyl and ends up evolving into Charizard to chase him through the sky. Before the battle can end, Jigglypuff appears and uses Sing, causing all of the fossil Pokémon (as well as the others) to fall asleep.
