Trivia
- Aron's name is an anagram of Oran; it is the only Pokémon whose name is an anagram of a Berry.
- Aron does not learn any Rock-type moves by leveling up, though it is part Rock. Its whole evolutionary family shares this trait.
- Aron can learn the signature moves of both Cranidos and Shieldon's evolutionary families: Head Smash and Metal Burst, the former by breeding in HeartGold and SoulSilver Versions, and the latter by leveling up.
- In addition, Aron bears an extraordinary physical resemblance to Shieldon.
Origin
Aron may have been based on an armadillo.
Name origin
Aron's name may be a combination of armadillo and iron. Armor may also be a part of its name. Aron's Japanese name can be broken down into 子 ko, child, and Kodora. Kodora is the Japanese name of Aron's evolution, Lairon, hence child Kodora.
In other languages
- German: Stollunior
- French: Galekid - From gallet (pebble) and the English word kid.
- Korean: 가보리 Gabori
