Arm Thrust (Japanese: つっぱり Thrust) is a damage-dealing Template:Type2 move introduced in Generation III. Its name refers to a sumo technique called tsuppari. Up until Generation V, it was the signature move of Makuhita and Hariyama.
Effect
Generation III
Arm Thrust inflicts damage, hitting the target between 2-5 times per use. There is a 37.5% chance that it will hit 2 times, a 37.5% chance that it will hit 3 times, a 12.5% chance that it will hit 4 times, and a 12.5% chance that it will hit 5 times. Each attack made has an equal chance to land a critical hit.
Arm Thrust will end immediately if it breaks a Substitute. Bide and Counter will only acknowledge the last hit of this move.
Generation IV and onwards
Same as Generation III, except it will continue attacking after a Substitute is broken.
