An Area Leader (Japanese: エリアリーダー Area Leader) is a type of Pokémon Trainer that first debuted in the Generation III games, appearing in Colosseum.  Each Area Leader rules over 10 sections of Mt. Battle and many specialize in a single Pokémon type.  In this way, they are much like the closest thing Orre has to Gym Leaders.  After defeating an Area Leader, the player receives Poké Coupons as a reward instead of badges.  There are 10 Area Leaders in all.  The tenth one faced is known as a Mt.BtlMaster, the Area Leader of all of Mt. Battle, and is essentially Orre's one-man equivalent to the Elite Four of other regions.

Trivia
*In Pokémon XD: Gale of Darkness, the Area Leaders for Areas 7 through 9 all use Pokémon that distribute one EV stat only.
**Nocom, the Area Leader for Area 7, has Pokémon that give out only Special Attack EVs. Furthermore, all of his Pokémon have their Special Attack as their highest stat.
**Naday, the Area Leader for Area 8, has Pokémon that give out only Attack EVs. Furthermore, all of her Pokémon have their Attack as their highest stat.
**Ragen, the Area Leader for Area 9, has Pokémon that give out only Defense EVs.

An Area Leader (Japanese: エリアリーダー Area Leader) is a type of Pokémon Trainer that first debuted in the Generation III games, appearing in Pokémon Colosseum and Pokémon XD. The tenth one faced is known as a Mt BtlMaster, the Area Leader of all of Mt. Battle.
