Coin Case
Go to the house left of the Poké Mart and talk to the woman, she will exchange her Coin Case for the Mail. The Harbor Mail can be found at the Slateport City Poké Mart for a small price. An alternate method is  to find it for free by locating it as one of the visible items on the floor at the Trick House during the Trick Master's second challenge after defeating Wattson.
Rydel's Cycles
Rydel's Cycles is located near the city's east exit. Spotting your dirty Running Shoes, the shop owner, Rydel, realizes that you've done a lot of traveling. He offers you a free bicycle, and gives you the choice between two models. The III is faster and is able to ride up Bike obstacles, which is useful for exploring places like Granite Cave. The III is slower which allows for more precise control and the ability to perform Bicycle. After choosing a bike, you can speak to Rydel at any time to swap it for the other model.

Coins may be purchased from the woman at the left side of the service desk, available at 50 for pdollar1,000 and 500 for pdollar10,000.
After receiving the coin case you will be be able to play in the Game Corner which is the building south western building below Mauville Gym

Prizes
Collect enough coins and they can be exchanged for valuable prizes. To do so, speak to either of the two women at the right side of the service desk.

After you defeat Wally he agrees to return to Verdanturf Town with his uncle. Wally's uncle recognizes that you were the one to help him catch his Pokémon and invites you to visit sometime.
The Mauville Gym specializes in Electric Pokémon. While Pokémon of this type are only vulnerable to Ground attacks, the secondary types of the Pokémon inside make Fire and Fighting moves useful as well. Keep your Water- and Flying Pokémon on the sidelines for now. The Gym features several electrical barriers, which can be turned on and off by stepping on thunderbolt-shaped switches. To reach the Gym Leader, simply step on the northwest switch.

Once ready head into the Mauville Gym. This gym challenge should be a breeze with a strong Ground and an attack like Mud Shot or Magnitude. This gym is set up where electrical barriers can limit travel and by touching the lightning bolt themed floor tiles will change the barriers' positions. An easy shortcut is to use only either of the tiles in the uppermost part of the gym to get to Wattson quicker.
Wattson leads with his Magnemite, an Pokémon. Due to its type combination, it is especially vulnerable to Ground moves. It can use Thunder Wave to paralyze the target, cutting its Speed and restricting its movement, and can further antagonize its target with Supersonic. Though his Voltorb's Attack is low, if left unchecked its Rollout move—a Rock attack—increases in power and can pose a danger to Fire Pokémon like Combusken. His third Pokémon, Magneton, likes to start with Supersonic to confuse its foe. All of his Pokémon know SonicBoom, a weak move but one that is guaranteed to deal 20 points of damage if it hits.

After defeating him, Wattson will award you with a Dynamo that will allow you to  use Rock Smash outside of battle and give your team a slight boost in Speed. He will also give you 34.

Now that the Gym battle is over it's time to move on. You can head east for a quick trip to 118 to face three Trainers to build up your team but there is nothing else you can do to cross the water until you can use Surf by defeating the Petalburg Gym. Before heading to 111 in the north, lets head west to 117 and make a trip to Verdanturf Town for some important items.

After the battle, Wattson awards you the Dynamo, which boosts your Pokémon's Speed by 10% and enables the use of Rock Smash in the field. He also hands out 34 as a prize.

Once you enter Route 117, head west to Verdanturf Town where you can battle Trainers along the way or to catch new Pokémon.

117 stretches west from Mauville City. The optional path serves as a shortcut back to western Hoenn, by way of Verdanturf Town and Rusturf Tunnel. A Pokémon Day Care is located just outside the city.

This is also a good chance to catch a Marill and its evolution Azumarill will come in handy for the next gym which is a Fire gym especially if you hadn't chosen Mudkip as your starter Pokémon.

Pokémon Day Care
Pokémon Day Care
The Day Care center for Hoenn is located at the beginning of this route which you can put any Pokémon in daycare for either raising levels or breeding.
The Pokémon Day Care is a facility that raises Pokémon for busy Trainers. For a small fee, up to two Pokémon can be left here to be raised by the Day Care staff. During their stay, Pokémon will gradually level up and learn new moves. When two Pokémon breeding Pokémon are left at the same time, you may return to find an Egg! Speak to the Day-Care Man and he will hint at the odds of finding one.

Contest Hall
The contest hall in this town is for the Normal Rank contests where you can pick up a Contest Pass and start competing in contests. Also if you talk to a girl in the upper right corner she will give you 45.

Happiness Rater
Whenever an Egg is found, the Day-Care Man will be standing farther away from the fence, eager to talk to you. Speak to him to receive the Egg, and carry it with you on your journey. The more you travel with an Egg, the faster the Pokémon inside will hatch.
A woman living in the southwestern house will rate the happiness of the Pokémon placed first in your party.

Wanda's House
Verdanturf Town
The house is located next to the Happiness Rater's house. Wanda is Wally's cousin and the same girl that is trying to get to her boyfriend who is on the other side of the rocks in Rusturf Tunnel. If you go talk to Wally he tells you he plans to train and defeat you, and his aunt will mention Wanda's predicament where now you can help her out.

Rusturf Tunnel
Verdanturf is a small town just west of 117, at the foot of the mountains. Due to the prevailing wind pattern, the area is always kept clear of falling volcanic ash. Wally is visiting with his uncle's family here, in the hopes that the fresh, clean air will improve his health.

Return here briefly and use Rock Smash to destroy the small rock and Wanda's boyfriend will reward you with 04 but you can't use it outside of battle until you get the Heat at the Lavaridge Gym. Anyway you can now easily pass between Verdanturf Town and Rustboro City and you won't have to rely on Mr. Briney to sail between these areas as often.

Also if you go southwest of the entrance you just used it leads to a hidden section of 116. Talk to the man again and he says they are not his missing glasses and leaves to look somewhere else. Now return to Mauville and head north to 111.
Wanda's House
The middle home on the south side belongs to Wanda, who happens to be Wally's cousin. This is where Wally is staying for now, but it seems that he's run off to train his Pokémon. According to Wanda's mother, Wanda is concerned about her boyfriend, who is working non-stop to complete the construction of Rusturf Tunnel. She often goes there to visit him.

Upon your arrival the only house you'll encounter on you way north up this route belongs to the Winstrate family where you can challenge them to a series of four battles. Make sure to have different types when facing this challenge, but it shouldn't be too difficult to beat all four of them. After the battle enter their house and Victoria will give you a EV-enhancing item for your accomplishment, while the others mention the son of the family Vito who you will meet later on Victory Road.

Following this go further up north and use Rock Smash to destroy the rocks in your way to find three more Trainers. You'll find a desert area but since you can't travel through it yet head west to 112.

Interviewers Gabby and Ty
Reunion
On this route is the Interviewer Gabby and her cameraman Ty who will always challenge you to a Double Battle whenever you talk to them and after winning Gabby will interview you if you wish and the phrase you used can be observed whenever you go to a Television. They will always rotate between routes in the order of first the east side of 118, then to 120, and then back to this route. You'll need to beat the Petalburg Gym first and use Surf to rechallenge them. They are not listed in the PokéNav.
With the Dynamo, you can finally use Rock Smash to clear a path through Rusturf Tunnel. Step inside and go northwest to reach a group of cracked rocks. Clear the debris to open the tunnel and reunite Wanda with her hardworking boyfriend. As thanks, he gives you 04!

Lost His Glasses
Take the tunnel's middle exit to reach a previously-unreachable part of 116. The Bug Maniac here has lost his glasses, so dig out your III and use it to track down a pair of Type-enhancing item. These aren't the glasses he lost though, so you get to keep them. Before moving on, be sure to grab the Vitamin on the ridge.

The Researcher's Reward
Continue through Rusturf Tunnel to its western exit to return to Route 116. A Devon researcher can be found just outside the tunnel. It's the same researcher that you've helped before, and as thanks for delivering the III to Captain Stern, he wishes to reward you with a Repeat. After receiving this one, you can buy Repeat Balls and Timers in Rustboro City.

This is the Bulbapedia walkthrough for Pokémon Ruby and Sapphire.
These pages follow the original Game Boy Advance iteration, not Pokémon Omega Ruby and Alpha Sapphire. The guide for those games can be found here.

Mauville City

Mauville City

Mauville City is located in central Hoenn, situated between Routes 110, 111, 117, and 118. Tourist hotspots include the Mauville Gym, Game Corner, and Rydel's Cycles.

Rydel's Cycles

Rydel's Cycles is located near the city's east exit. Spotting your dirty Running Shoes, the shop owner, Rydel, realizes that you've done a lot of traveling. He offers you a free bicycle, and gives you the choice between two models. The Mach Bike is faster and is able to ride up muddy slopes, which is useful for exploring places like Granite Cave. The Acro Bike is slower which allows for more precise control and the ability to perform tricks. After choosing a bike, you can speak to Rydel at any time to swap it for the other model.

Game Corner

Game Corner interior
Roulette

The Game Corner features sixteen slot machines, four of which are in use by other patrons, and two roulette tables. A Coin Case is needed to participate. Coins may be purchased from the woman at the left side of the service desk, available at 50 for $1,000 and 500 for $10,000.

Prizes

Collect enough coins and they can be exchanged for valuable prizes. To do so, speak to either of the two women at the right side of the service desk.

Wally's Challenge

When you approach the Gym, you find Wally and his uncle talking outside the building. He desperately wants to challenge the Gym, but his uncle has reservations. He challenges you to a quick battle to test his skills.

After being defeated, he decides to return to Verdanturf Town. As they turn to leave, his uncle recognizes you as the Trainer who helped Wally catch his Ralts, and invites you to visit them in Verdanturf.

Mauville Gym

Mauville Gym

Mauville City Pokémon Gym
Leader: Wattson

The cheerfully electrifying man!

The Mauville Gym specializes in Electric-type Pokémon. While Pokémon of this type are only vulnerable to Ground-type attacks, the secondary types of the Pokémon inside make Fire and Fighting moves useful as well. Keep your Water- and Flying-type Pokémon on the sidelines for now. The Gym features several electrical barriers, which can be turned on and off by stepping on thunderbolt-shaped switches. To reach the Gym Leader, simply step on the northwest switch.

Wattson leads with his Magnemite, an Electric/Steel Pokémon.

Mauville Gym
The Dynamo Badge

After the battle, Wattson awards you the Dynamo Badge, which boosts your Pokémon's Speed by 10% and enables the use of Rock Smash in the field. He also hands out TM34 (Shock Wave) as a prize.

Route 117

Route 117

Route 117 stretches west from Mauville City. The optional path serves as a shortcut back to western Hoenn, by way of Verdanturf Town and Rusturf Tunnel. A Pokémon Day Care is located just outside the city.

Pokémon Day Care

The Pokémon Day Care is a facility that raises Pokémon for busy Trainers. For a small fee, up to two Pokémon can be left here to be raised by the Day Care staff. During their stay, Pokémon will gradually level up and learn new moves. When two compatible Pokémon are left at the same time, you may return to find an Egg! Speak to the Day-Care Man and he will hint at the odds of finding one.

Whenever an Egg is found, the Day-Care Man will be standing farther away from the fence, eager to talk to you. Speak to him to receive the Egg, and carry it with you on your journey. The more you travel with an Egg, the faster the Pokémon inside will hatch.

Verdanturf Town

Verdanturf Town

Verdanturf is a small town just west of Route 117, at the foot of the mountains. Due to the prevailing wind pattern, the area is always kept clear of falling volcanic ash. Wally is visiting with his uncle's family here, in the hopes that the fresh, clean air will improve his health.

Friendship Rater

In the house situated to the left of Wanda's house, there is a woman who rates the friendship of Pokémon.

Reunion

With the Dynamo Badge, you can finally use Rock Smash to clear a path through Rusturf Tunnel. Step inside and go northwest to reach a group of cracked rocks. Clear the debris to open the tunnel and reunite Wanda with her hardworking boyfriend. As thanks, he gives you HM04 (Strength)!

Lost His Glasses

Take the tunnel's middle exit to reach a previously-unreachable part of Route 116. The Bug Maniac here has lost his glasses, so dig out your Itemfinder and use it to track down a pair of BlackGlasses. These aren't the glasses he lost though, so you get to keep them. Before moving on, be sure to grab the HP Up on the ridge.

The Researcher's Reward

Continue through Rusturf Tunnel to its western exit to return to Route 116. A Devon researcher can be found just outside the tunnel. It's the same researcher that you've helped before, and as thanks for delivering the Devon Goods to Captain Stern, he wishes to reward you with a Repeat Ball. After receiving this one, you can buy Repeat Balls and Timer Balls in Rustboro City.
