Hoenn Elite Four

Now that you have reached the upper half of Evergrande City it is time to follow the large path from the exit of Victory Road to the large building in the north to where the Elite Four is located. Upon entry, on the upper left corner is the nurse that will heal your Pokémon and the PC that you can exchange items or Pokémon with. On upper right is the Poké Mart that you can buy items with. Make sure to buy plenty of Revives, Max Potions and Full Restores which will come in handy since the Elite Four challenges will be difficult without adequate preparations. The lower left corner is where the escalator to the trade area is located.

Make sure your team is around Lv. 50 and filled with different types to be able the Elite Fours different teams, just remember if you lose to any of them you will have to start over from the first. Once you are ready talk to the two guys between the merchant and Pokémon Center healer and show them you have all eight Hoenn badges and they will step aside, so its time to face the Elite Four.

Sidney is a Dark-type specialist so a Bug or Fighting-type will be the best choice to battle with him. Blaziken would be the best choice since its Fire-type abilities will also come in handy with the later challenges. Swellow or Crobat along with either Manectric or Raichu will also help clear out some of the other Pokémon as well. If you don't have Blaziken then Medicham, Machamp, or Hariyama will have to fight in its place. Be careful with Shiftry and Absol since they have a move in the moveset that is effective against Fighting types.

Phoebe is a Ghost-type specialist. The best choice is to use a Dark-type like Absol or Mightyena. Avoid using another Ghost-type; instead, use a different Pokémon with a Ghost-type move. The only real dangers is that some of her Pokémon have status moves so bring plenty of Full Heals and Full Restores (or in Attracts case switch out the Pokémon or bring the Red Flute or Mental Herb. Also her Sableye does not have any type it is weak to so most types should bring it down with its weak defenses. It would also be advisable to bring a couple Leppa Berries as a few of her Pokémon are capable of draining PP from your own Pokémon's moves.

Glacia is a Ice-type specialist, so bring Fire, Fighting, or Electric-type Pokémon. If you have Blaziken or any other Fire-type, it would be best to use them on Glalie only, while with Sealeo and Walrein it would be better to use Manectric or Raichu on it, aside from any other fighting type that it is not weak against. The only thing to watch out for is that her Pokémon will mostly use Hail which damages all Pokémon except for Ice types. Also one of her Sealeo can use the Hail/Blizzard combo.

Drake is a Dragon-type specialist and is more difficult to beat. Other than Ice types like Regice, Walrein, or Glalie you should bring in a lot of healing items, and also have different types of Pokémon, since most of Drake's team have traits from different types. Pretty much except for one of his Flygon and Altaria, his team has been rigged to counter Ice-types, though Walrein can handle some of these problems since it is part Water-type. It is also very ill-advised to bring in a Dragon-type of your own unless if you have a Pokémon that knows a Dragon-type move since every Pokémon that Drake has can counter them. If you decide to use the Hail/Blizzard combo avoid using it when facing one of his Flygon since it can counter Hail with Sandstorm.

It is time to battle Steven Stone, the son of the Devon Corporation President that had assisted you a few times in your quest earlier. After climbing the stairs with the flashing lights on the side, you will be in his chamber to face him. Steven is a Steel-type specialist, and also has a few non-Steel types. So bring a Fire-type like Blaziken or Ninetales. If you started out with Mudkip, then Swampert will also be a valuable addition for this battle though you can also use Whiscash if you don't have one.

The Fire, Fighting, and Water-types should be enough to fight this battle The ones to watch out for are Armaldo, Cradily, Aggron and Metagross since they have moves in their movesets to counter Pokémon types they are weak to, like Armaldo and Water Pulse or Aggron and SolarBeam.

The End?

Once the battle with the Champion Steven is over, he congratulates you for the feelings for your Pokémon coming together with theirs allowing you to obtain victory. Just as Steven announces you as the new Champion, Brendan/May shows ups and interrupts the conversation to give you some advice to beat the Champion, only to realize that you did actually beat the Champion. Professor Birch then shows up confirming to Brendan/May that they didn't need to worry. He congratulates you for your win, knowing it was possible after beating your father Norman at the Petalburg Gym. After Birch checks your Pokédex, Steven takes you to the Hall of Fame and your current team is recorded into it. Afterwards, the credits will roll.
