Badge 1: Littleroot Town to Rustboro City
Littleroot Town
After Professor Birch's talk on Pokémon, the player will end up in a pickup truck. The family has moved from Johto to Hoenn, but head out, into the player's house, set the player clock and listen to the player mom. After that, head to the player's rival's house, but her mom will tell the player she's not here. Head north and rescue Prof. birch.
Route 101
After that, the player will engage in battle with a level 2/3 Poocheena. After defeating him, the Professer will take the player to his lab and tell the player to go to Route 103. After that, head to Oldale Town, the first town with a Pokémon center.
Oldale Town to Route 103
Head north of town and collect a pair of running shoes from the player mom. Head north to Route 103. On the player way, the player will meet a Pokémart salesman. Talk to him to get a free potion. After that, head north, and the player finally will battle with May, the player rival.
Rival Battle 1
Mudkip/Treecko/Torchic Lv.5
This battle should be easy. Just keep using Tackle/Scratch and May should be defeated in no time.
Route 103 to Littleroot Town to Route 102
So follow her back to the Pokémon lab, where the Professer will give the player a Pokéball. Leave Littleroot Town again, head to Oladale Town and buy some items at the Pokémart. After that, head west and leave Oldale through Route 102.

After battling, head north-east to pick some berries. After picking, head west for more trainers.
- Lass Tiana ($64)
After beating her, head south to pick up a item. Then head back up and continue west. The player will arrive at Petalburg City. Head to the Gym, but the player dad says he can't battle the player until the player have 3 badges, but instead tells the player to go and help Wally, the player second rival, to catch a Pokémon.
