Lavender Town

Lavender Town

Lavender Town still does not have much going on, but the biggest change that occurred over the last three years was the conversion of Pokémon Tower to the Kanto Radio Tower.

Kanto Radio Tower

The tower security has been on high alert ever since the Radio Tower was infiltrated by Team Rocket, so no one is allowed beyond the ground floor.

In order to access Kanto's radio programs, you will need to obtain an EXPN Card for your Pokégear. Unfortunately, there's been some kind of accident at the Power Plant, so you won't be able to get the EXPN Card until you investigate.

House of Memories

The House of Memories was established in order to accommodate the remains of Pokémon when the Pokémon Tower was converted into a radio tower. While there are only a handful of visible graves in the room, most are located in underground chambers that only Mr. Fuji has access to.

Name Rater

The Name Rater is found in the southeast house, and will allow you to re-name your Pokémon.
However, Trainers are unable to re-name Pokémon they obtained in a trade.

Go north to Route 10.

Route 10 (south)

Route 10 is a short route with only two Trainers that connects Lavender Town to Rock Tunnel.
The Power Plant is located here, between the two ends of Rock Tunnel, but can only be accessed by surfing down the river from the north side of the route. Shove the lone boulder aside to obtain TM69 (Rock Polish), and climb up to Rock Tunnel's southern entrance.

Bring a Pokémon that knows Flash to light up the shadowy tunnel, or it won't be easy getting to the exit.

Rock Tunnel

A few rare Pokémon species, displaced from the shut-down Safari Zone, now inhabit Rock Tunnel.
This is great news for Trainers, since elusive Pokémon like Marowak and Kangaskhan may appear.

1F

From the Lavender Town entrance, step up onto the rock platform ahead of you, and walk to the east. North of here is TM56 (Fling). Walk back to the entrance, and head west over the rocky ledge. Grab the Elixir in the northern area, and climb down the ladder in the southwest to reach B1F.

B1F

Walk north, then head to the east. There are four places where you could use Rock Climb, but you'll only obtain HM08 near the end of the game — make a return trip through the tunnel to find a few more items. Follow the path to the north, and climb the ladder near the western wall.

1F

Head east from the ladder, and walk in a backwards C-shape to reach a rock ledge to the north. There are two stairways that lead up onto it; use your Dowsing MCHN to find an X Accuracy on the southern area, then cross over the northern part to reach the ladder in the northwest.

B1F

Near the northwest ladder are two pairs of stairways; climb the northern pair to reach a Revive, then backtrack and head east across the southern pair. Walk south down the next stairway you see to find a PP Up, then continue towards the northeast area. If you happen to have a Rock Smasher with you, you can climb down the stairway to the southeast area, and break the two boulders sitting side-by-side to find a hidden Max Potion. Otherwise, climb the ladder in the northeast.

1F

This is the shortest part of the tunnel. Head northeast to the exit to reach the north side of Route 10.

Route 10 (north)

Emerging from the tunnel, you'll find yourself near a Poké Center. Bring a surfer along, and walk north from the building. Wade out into the river and swim south to reach the Power Plant.

Power Plant

The old abandoned Power Plant has been fully renovated in order to power the region more efficiently. Unfortunately, some thief has stolen an essential part of the generator, rendering it inoperable. Without that piece, the Magnet Train is confined to the Saffron station. One of the workers here is looking to trade his Magneton for a Dugtrio, as well.

When you head for the exit, the police officer announces that a shady character has spotted loitering near the Gym in Cerulean City, and asks you to check it out.

Surf back upriver, and turn west to reach Route 9 on the way to Cerulean.
