Also known as Cycling Road, the path that connects Celadon City and Fuchsia City (Routes 16, 17, and 18) is a favorite hangout spot for bikers. Besides a few battles, it's a pretty easy ride down the slope to Fuchsia. Cut down the small tree near the Snorlax to find a hidden area.  Walk through the gate and enter the house on the other side.  The girl inside will bribe Trainers with 02 to keep her hideaway a secret.  Teach that to something like Pidgeot or Fearow to visit any previous town in seconds.
The path that connects Celadon City to Fuchsia City—Routes 16, 17, and 18—is also known as Cycling Road, a favorite hangout spot for Bikers. Aside from a few battles, the ride southward is pretty easy. Be sure to bring the III!

The sleeping Snorlax blocks any travel, so use the Poké Flute to wake it up.  There are only two Snorlax in the region, so if the player defeats this one, make sure to get the one south of Lavender Town.  Another of Oak's aides is upstairs, and will hand over the In-battle effect item to Trainers with Pokédex data on at least 40 species.  Trainers must bring the Bicycle along as well, or the guard won't let them on Cycling Road.

Route 16
Cut down the tree near the north gate to reach a secluded area. Enter the house on the other side, and a reclusive girl will hand over 02 to keep her hideaway a secret. Teach that to something like Pidgeot or Fearow in order to visit any familiar town in seconds!

Hang a right and ride to the gate.  The kid on the second floor is looking for a GolduckFR/SlowbroLG, and is willing to trade his Lickitung (the only one in the game) for it.  Battle the three Bird Keepers south of the gate for some quick cash before heading east to Fuchsia.
As for the roadblock, use the Poké Flute to rouse Snorlax from its nap. It wakes up in a grumpy rage, and attacks! There are only two in the whole region; the other blocks the way south of Lavender Town.

Like the one in Vermilion City, he also gives a fishing rod. The III can hook water-dwelling Pokémon besides Magikarp. A few aquatic species like Poliwag and Goldeen can be found in his backyard pond.

With Team Rocket still reeling from their botched operation in Saffron, Trainers are free to continue on their quest. Fuchsia City hosts the Safari Zone, a wildlife preserve where people can view rare species in their native habitats.  Besides the zoo, Fuchsia is also home to the Fuchsia Gym, the sixth in the Indigo League.  Stop by the Poké Center to the south, and enter the Gym.

The Fuchsia Gym is teeming with Poisons. Psychic moves will inflict double-damage, as will Ground moves.  However, all of his Pokémon but Muk have the ability Levitate which makes them immune to Ground moves.  A good Steel Pokémon like Magneton is also a great choice at this gym, as they are not affected by Poison moves. The ninja master has set up invisible walls in his Gym to disorient his challengers, so Trainers will have to find the open spaces between the walls to find the path to the Gym Leader.
The Fuchsia Gym specializes in Poison Pokémon. That being said, most Pokémon inside belong to the Psychic type instead. Ghost- and Dark moves are useful against these Drowzee and Kadabra. In addition, Psychic- and Ground attacks work well against the three Arbok, while Grass- and Water moves are best for the two Sandslash. The ninja master, Koga, has set up glass walls in his Gym to disorient his challengers, but these walls are not truly "invisible". The path to the Gym Leader runs counter-clockwise along the walls.

Defeating the Fuchsia Gym earn a Trainer their sixth badge. The Soul allows Trainers to use Surf to cross bodies of water.  This gives Trainers the ability to leave the mainland and head for Cinnabar Island by way of the Seafoam Islands a little later.  It also gives a slight defense boost during battle. Koga rewards his opponent with 06 as a prize.  Leave the Gym, jump off the ledge to the right of the Poké Center, and visit the Safari Zone Warden's home.
Defeated, Koga awards the Soul, which grants a slight Defense boost during battle and enables the use of Surf in the field. As a prize, he also hands over 06, a secret ninja technique that he claims is over 400 years old.

Warden's home
The Warden
The Warden is a little distraught about losing his set of III. If happens to find them while hunting in the Safari Zone, the Warden will reward with 04! This HM allows a Pokémon to move certain boulders, opening new paths in the process.

The Warden is a little upset about losing his set of List of key items in Generation III. If they turn up, returning them to the Warden will result in the Trainer obtaining 04, perfect for moving the boulder in his house to get the Vitamin behind it. Before entering the safari, stop in the house next door and talk to the Fishing Brothers inside to get the Fishing. With this, Trainers can finally fish for something other than Magikarp.  Some aquatic species like Poliwag and Goldeen can be found in his backyard pond.

Safari Zone
The Kanto is the city's main tourist attraction. For pdollar500, participants are given thirty Safaris and allowed to catch any Pokémon they find. The drawback is that they are restricted from using their own Pokémon to weaken the wild Pokémon first. Instead, it is only permissible to throw either bait or rocks before attempting capture. Throwing bait makes a Pokémon less likely to run, but harder to catch; throwing a rock has the opposite effect. After running out of Safari Balls or walking 600 steps, the game is over.

The Safari Zone is the city's main tourist attraction. For pdollar500, all Trainers are given thirty Poké Ball and allowed to catch any Pokémon they find.  The catch is that Trainers are not allowed to use their own Pokémon to weaken the wild Pokémon first.  A Trainer's only options are to throw either a rock or bait before attempting to capture anything.  Throwing bait makes a Pokémon less likely to run, but harder to catch; while throwing a rock makes it more likely to run, but easier to catch.  Try different combinations to see what works.  There are many species roaming the park, and quite a few items, too.  When a Trainer runs out of Safari Balls or walks 500 steps, the game is over.  Be sure to return to the park after obtaining the Fishing to find even rarer species.

After looping past the rest house, grab the Vitamin and follow the path around to the southwest.

Back in the city, stop by the Warden's house to return the Gold Teeth. He gives the player 04 as thanks, and teaching this to a sturdy team member like Rhydon or Tauros lets them move those big boulders around.  Try it out now to reach the Vitamin inside the Warden's home.
Area 3
In the final area, head south to find the Warden's III. Walk to the west to find 32, and enter the Secret House. It seems that no one else has ventured this deep into the park, so the HM03 goes to . Teach it to something like Gyarados or Lapras to cross the pond to the south in order to reach a Potion and a Revive.

With Fuchsia City cleared, fly back to Lavender Town and head south to 12.

Revision as of 22:13, 20 June 2015

This is the Bulbapedia walkthrough for Pokémon FireRed and LeafGreen.
These pages follow the remade Game Boy Advance iteration, not Pokémon Red and Blue. The guide for those games can be found here.

Cycling Road

Route 16
Route 17

The path that connects Celadon City to Fuchsia City—Routes 16, 17, and 18—is also known as Cycling Road, a favorite hangout spot for Bikers. Aside from a few battles, the ride southward is pretty easy. Be sure to bring the Bicycle!

Route 16

Cut down the tree near the north gate to reach a secluded area. Enter the house on the other side, and a reclusive girl will hand over HM02 (Fly) to keep her hideaway a secret. Teach that to something like Pidgeot or Fearow in order to visit any familiar town in seconds!

As for the roadblock, use the Poké Flute to rouse Snorlax from its nap. It wakes up in a grumpy rage, and attacks! There are only two in the whole region; the other blocks the way south of Lavender Town.

Route 17

It's all downhill to Fuchsia City! To hit the brakes, hold down the B Button. Roll south down the hill to reach Route 18.

Route 18

Route 18

Turn to the east and ride to the gate. Upstairs, a kid is looking to trade his Lickitung for either a GolduckFR or a SlowbroLG. Battle the three Bird Keepers south of the gate for some quick cash before heading east.

Fuchsia City

Fuchsia City

Fuchsia City is home to the Fuchsia Gym, the sixth in the Indigo League. On the north side of town, the Safari Zone is a wildlife preserve where visitors can view rare Pokémon in their native habitats.

Fishing Guru 2

Jump the ledge near the Pokémon Center and enter the southeastern house to meet the local Fishing Guru. Like the one in Vermilion City, he also gives Leaf a fishing rod. The Good Rod can hook water-dwelling Pokémon besides Magikarp. A few aquatic species like Poliwag and Goldeen can be found in his backyard pond.

Fuchsia Gym

Fuchsia Gym

FUCHSIA CITY POKéMON GYM
LEADER: KOGA

The Poisonous Ninja Master!

The Fuchsia Gym specializes in Poison-type Pokémon. That being said, most Pokémon inside belong to the Psychic type instead. Ghost- and Dark-type moves are useful against these Drowzee and Kadabra. In addition, Psychic- and Ground-type attacks work well against the three Arbok, while Grass- and Water-type moves are best for the two Sandslash. The ninja master, Koga, has set up glass walls in his Gym to disorient his challengers, but these walls are not truly "invisible". The path to the Gym Leader runs counter-clockwise along the walls.

Fuchsia Gym
The Soul Badge

Defeated, Koga awards Leaf the Soul Badge, which grants a slight Defense boost during battle and enables the use of Surf in the field. As a prize, he also hands over TM06 (Toxic), a secret ninja technique that he claims is over 400 years old.

The Warden

The Warden is a little distraught about losing his set of Gold Teeth. If Leaf happens to find them while hunting in the Safari Zone, the Warden will reward her with HM04 (Strength)! This HM allows a Pokémon to move certain boulders, opening new paths in the process.

Safari Zone, Entrance
Safari Zone, Area 1
Safari Zone, Area 2
Safari Zone, Area 3

Safari Zone

The Safari Zone is the city's main tourist attraction. For $500, participants are given thirty Safari Balls and allowed to catch any Pokémon they find.

Entrance

Step inside the safari and head to the northeast to enter the second area, Area 1.

Area 1

There are four items scattered around the second area. Pick up a Leaf Stone on the platform, TM11 (Sunny Day) on the edge of the pond, a Max Potion to the northwest, and a Full Restore near the rest house. Walk past the rest house and head west.

Area 2

Cross over the eastern platform to reach a Quick Claw in the area's center. Trek through the tall grass and cross over the western platform. From here, follow the sideways S-bend westward to reach the northern section. Pass through two more patches of tall grass and pick up TM47 (Steel Wing). After looping past the rest house, grab the Protein and follow the path around to the southwest.

Area 3

In the final area, head south to find the Warden's Gold Teeth. Walk to the west to find TM32 (Double Team), and enter the Secret House. It seems that no one else has ventured this deep into the park, so the HM03 goes to Leaf. Teach it to something like Gyarados or Lapras to cross the pond to the south in order to reach a Max Potion and a Max Revive.

After exploring Fuchsia City, fly back to Lavender Town and head south to Route 12.
