Route 22
After traveling throughout the Kanto region and defeating the eight Gym Leaders, the end of the story is fast approaching. The last great challenge for aspiring Trainers is to defeat the Elite Four at Indigo Plateau, far to the northwest.

With all 8 Badge, there is only one major obstacle left: Victory Road. But to get there, Trainers need to battle Blue (game)/FireRed and LeafGreen one last time.  His Pokémon are quite powerful, almost at their full potential.  Several of his Pokémon, particularly Charizard and Gyarados, possess very powerful moves and will be difficult to bring down.  Fortunately, both of them, (as well as Blastoise and Pidgeot) are weak against the Electric.  Bring along a diverse team of Pokémon with a variety of moves, particularly Electric, Rock, and Ice, and his Pokémon won't last very long.

Rival battle 7
As travels west on 22, Blue shows up to challenge one last time. Having levels close to 50, his Pokémon are no pushovers, but play to their weaknesses and they will not last very long.

There are two items sitting near the north wall.  Shove the boulder ←2 spaces, and now there's a decision to make.  Push it ←1 to get 02 to the north, or move it ↑1 to get a Vitamin to the west.  Trainers will only be able to get one of them right now, but re-enter later, and the boulder will reset, allowing you to reach the second item.  Walk left past the Cooltrainer♀, and take the stairs near the Cooltrainer♂ in the northwest corner.
Continue west and enter the League's front gate.

On the second floor, walk south to find another boulder. Push this one ←2, ↓2, ←2 onto the switch, clearing the rock ledge.  Take the first stairway south, and head left to pick up 37. There is a switch nearby but no boulder to be seen (Trainers will need to drop one down from the floor above), so walk to the right and head north to find two Trainers, a Status ailment healing item, and 07.  Now take the stairs near the Full Heal to the 3rd floor.
23 is a long route, and Victory Road stands at the northern end. The guard in the front gate checks all Trainers for the Boulder. Scattered to the north are seven more guards, who each check for one of the other seven Badges. Once the eighth guard sees 's Earth, is free to enter Victory Road.

Victory Road
Like the Seafoam Islands, Victory Road features several Strength puzzles; however, instead of dropping these boulders through holes in the floor, they must be moved onto pressure switches to unlock new areas.

Right away, a boulder is visible to the north.  Ignore it for now and head right to fight a Cooltrainer♂ and pick up a Revive.  Head all the way to the left to find 50.  The stairs in the northwest lead to an isolated area on the second floor where Moltres had originally nested, but since it had migrated to Mt. Ember, the only things a Trainer will find downstairs are a PokéManiac and a Battle item

Retrace your steps to the boulder near the stairs.  Strength it to the northwest (↑2, ←22, ↓1, ←4, ↓3, →1).  This clears the rock ledge, letting you reach the southern area.  Drop the next boulder through a hole in the floor.  Walk up on the rock ledge past another Cooltrainer♀, and step down in the southwest.  Battle past two more Cooltrainers, and push the boulder down the hole.  Drop down the hole behind it.

Inside the entrance is a boulder to the west and a switch to the east. To activate the switch, move the boulder ↓1, →5, ↑2, →7, ↑2, →1, and ↓1. This removes the barrier on the platform. Head to the northeast area to find two items near the north wall. The cave's layout forces to use the boulder here to block off one item in order to reach the other. A Vitamin lies to the west, while 02 lies to the north. In order to reach the other item, exit and re-enter the cave to reset the puzzle. Go west past the two Cooltrainers and climb the northwest ladder.

To the south is another boulder; move this one ←2, ↓2, and ←2 onto the switch to clear the platform. Walk along the platform, and go down the nearest stairway. Another boulder lies to the north, but ignore it for now. Go northeast to fight Cooltrainer George and collect a Revive. Head to the northwest area to find 50 and another switch. Climb down the ladder to reach a separate area of the second floor.

This area of Victory Road was once home to Moltres, but with it gone, all that is left is PokéManiac Dawson and a Battle item. Climb back to 3F.

Go back east to the first boulder and move it ↑2, ←22, ↓1, ←4, ↓3, and →1 to reach the switch. This clears the barrier on the platform, allowing to reach the southern area. Cross the platform and head south to battle two more Cooltrainers. Head east to drop the boulder down the hole, then jump down behind it.

In the final room, a Cooltrainer offers to teach Double-Edge to one of 's Pokémon, in recognition of trek through Victory Road. Double-Edge is a powerful but reckless move that causes both the target and user to sustain damage. The exit lies to the east.

Revision as of 22:16, 20 June 2015

This is the Bulbapedia walkthrough for Pokémon FireRed and LeafGreen.
These pages follow the remade Game Boy Advance iteration, not Red and Blue. The guide for those games can be found here.

Route 22

Route 22

After traveling throughout the Kanto region and defeating the eight Gym Leaders, the end of the story is fast approaching. The last great challenge for aspiring Trainers is to defeat the Elite Four at Indigo Plateau, far to the northwest.

Rival battle 7

As Leaf travels west on Route 22, Blue shows up to challenge her one last time. Having levels close to 50, his Pokémon are no pushovers, but play to their weaknesses and they will not last very long.

Bulbasaur Player chose Bulbasaur: Charmander Player chose Charmander: Squirtle Player chose Squirtle:

Continue west and enter the League's front gate.

Route 23 (south)

Route 23

POKéMON LEAGUE
Front Gate

Route 23 is a long route, and Victory Road stands at the northern end. The guard in the front gate checks all Trainers for the Boulder Badge. Scattered to the north are seven more guards, who each check for one of the other seven Badges. Once the eighth guard sees Leaf's Earth Badge, she is free to enter Victory Road.

Victory Road

Like the Seafoam Islands, Victory Road features several Strength puzzles; however, instead of dropping these boulders through holes in the floor, they must be moved onto pressure switches to unlock new areas.

To the west is TM37 (Sandstorm) and a pressure switch. Head east then north to reach a Full Heal and TM07 (Hail), and climb the ladder near the Full Heal to the third floor.

Another boulder lies to the north, but ignore it for now. Go northeast to fight Cooltrainer George and collect a Max Revive. Head to the northwest area to find TM50 (Overheat) and another switch. Climb down the ladder to reach a separate area of the second floor.

2F

This area of Victory Road was once home to Moltres, but with it gone, all that is left is PokéManiac Dawson and a Guard Spec.. Climb back to 3F.

3F

Go back east to the first boulder and move it ↑2, ←22, ↓1, ←4, ↓3, and →1 to reach the switch. This clears the barrier on the platform, allowing Leaf to reach the southern area. Cross the platform and head south to battle two more Cooltrainers. Head east to drop the boulder down the hole, then jump down behind it.

2F

Shove the boulder all the way west to the switch. This removes the barrier near where it fell through from 3F. Climb up onto the platform and take the ladder to the third floor.

3F

Take the next ladder back down to 2F.

Move Tutor

In the final room, a Cooltrainer offers to teach Double-Edge to one of Leaf's Pokémon, in recognition of her trek through Victory Road. Double-Edge is a powerful but reckless move that causes both the target and user to sustain damage. The exit lies to the east.

Route 23 (north)

Follow the tiled path to the north, and wander through the maze of Pokémon statues at the foot of the Indigo Plateau. This is it!
