Anthony (Japanese: トンペイ Tonpei) is a Pokémon Coordinator who entered the Hoenn Grand Festival. He appeared in Deceit and Assist and Rhapsody in Drew.

History

Ash and his friends met Anthony while he was on the beach looking for his Contest Ribbons, which had been stolen by Team Rocket. He was worried that he wouldn't be able to enter the Grand Festival. With the help of Officer Jenny and Ash, Anthony tracked down Team Rocket and retrieved his Ribbons just in time for the competition. It was revealed that he got the 52nd place in the first Appeals Round.

Anthony was able to get through the second appeal stage, but he lost in his Double Battle against May. He promised that, despite the loss, he would train harder to become a Top Coordinator.

After Team Rocket tried to steal Anthony's Ribbons, he had Swalot use a combination of Swallow and Spit Up to stop them in their tracks.
