In Japan, a promotional version of this card was awarded as a prize to those who participated in the Bonds to the End of Time Gym Challenge events during December 2008.

The Japanese promotional print has a gold foil "Gym☆Challenge" stamp to the right under the card's attacks.

- Elite Four member Lucian owns a level 56 male Alakazam that knows Recover in Pokémon Platinum. The card's artwork also depicts a male Alakazam.
