Air Lock (Japanese: エアロック Air Lock) is an ability introduced in Generation III. Rayquaza is the only Pokémon that has this ability. Possessing this ability ties Rayquaza to its mythology of stopping the battle between Kyogre and Groudon by stopping their influence on the weather.
Effect
In battle
Air Lock prevents the effects of all weather effects.
Generation V
When a Pokémon with Air Lock is brought out, the message "<name> has Air Lock!" will be displayed.
Outside of battle
Air Lock has no effect outside of battle.
Pokémon Mystery Dungeon
In Pokémon Mystery Dungeon, the current weather will be changed to Clear every 36 turns. Air Lock will take precedence over Drizzle, Drought, Sand Stream, and Snow Warning. Additionally, this ability prevents the use of the moves Sunny Day, Rain Dance, Hail, and Sandstorm.
