Synopsis

The episode begins with a recap of Ash's battle at the Battle Palace where he won the Spirits Symbol. Ash and his friends head towards the Battle Tower. While on the boat, Ash looks at his symbols and admires them. Max reminds him that once he has all six, the seventh facility will be revealed to them. Brock tells them that the next facility they must go to is the Battle Tower so he can earn the Ability Symbol. As they arrive on the mainland, they are greeted by Team Rocket in disguise. Team Rocket tells them that by being the 777th group to make it on the mainland, they can receive free massages. Ash and his friends are skeptical about whether it is real or not, but decide to go for the free massage anyway. As they are relaxing, Team Rocket presses a button which sets off a device that locks Ash and his friends to the tables that they are lying down on top of. Team Rocket removes their disguises and tries to grab Pikachu and the others. Pikachu uses Thunderbolt but it fails to work and a cage falls on top of Pikachu, Bonsly, and Eevee. Team Rocket goes to grab the cage but Ash sends out Ash to attack. Jessie brings out Dustox} and James out Mime Jr. but decides that it is too cute to battle. Sceptile uses Leaf Blade and Dustox uses Psybeam to land hits. Munchlax pops out of its Poké Ball and uses Metronome which turns into Sandstorm to blow Team Rocket away.

Ash and his friends are okay but notice that Pikachu and Bonsly were missing. Team Rocket notices that Mime Jr. and Meowth are missing as well. On the roof of a tall building, the Pokémon are trapped in the tent and are hanging on the edge of the roof. The tent rips open and the Pokémon fall hard to the ground. Three men in black suits and black hats approach the Pokémon as the Pokémon run away from them. The men chase after them but the tent falls on top of them letting the Pokémon get away. Meowth believes that the men were sent by Giovanni to go after him. After thinking a little bit more, Meowth thinks that they are from an even more evil organization than Team Rocket. The men find the Pokémon and once again start chasing after them. The Pokémon jump on and off a car while Meowth grabs a car part shaped like a Pokémon by mistake. Meowth throws away the ornament. After running so hard, the Pokémon stop in an alley and are too tired and hungry to move. Meowth sees a woman having trouble getting Pokémon food into a doorway and decides to help her. Meowth brings all of the Pokémon food boxes into the building and because of his generosity, the woman lets Meowth keep the final box.

Meowth brings the Pokémon food box back to the other Pokémon, but Pikachu is skeptical at first. Meowth explains that he worked very hard to earn that food. Ash and his friends are still looking for their Pokémon as Brock is worried about Bonsly since it cannot eat solid food. In a junkyard, the Pokémon are eating the food, but Bonsly is using Fake Tears since it cannot eat solid food. Meowth adds water to the Pokémon food to soften it up enough for Bonsly to drink it. The men in the black suits return and begin chasing the Pokémon again. Meanwhile, as Team Rocket is looking for the Pokémon, they spot a Mime Jr. and Bonsly that aren't the ones that they know. The scared Pokémon run away and run into Ash and his friends. A group of fans run after the Pokémon as they run away. Brock realizes that it's not the Bonsly that he knows as May explains that they must be the Pokémon from the famous movie. May and Brock explain that it's a romantic Pokémon movie where Bonsly and Mime Jr. stay in love even though everyone tries to keep them apart.

The Pokémon run across a bridge and run into a casting crew. Meowth realizes that the three men who were chasing them must have mistaken them for king and queen of the movie they are working on. After looking at both Mime Jr. and Bonsly, the director realizes that they must not be the same Pokémon. Team Rocket disguises themselves as agents and step in and suggests to the director that the Pokémon are just as good or even better than the real king and queen that they use. The director decides that they will be used since they don't have another choice at the time. Mime Jr. is given a yellow scarf while Bonsly is given a blue scarf to be able to look like the king and queen and do their parts. A man in a Mime Jr. outfit, and a man in a Bonsly outfit act out a scene where they face each other, and hug one another out of love. Mime Jr. practices its part with the man in the Mime Jr. outfit and hugs the man in the Bonsly outfit.

As they are eating lunch, Team Rocket comments on how great the food is and how Bonsly is able to drink out of a bottle after their hard work. Jessie comes up with the idea that they should try to get Pikachu as an extra for the movie so after the director yells cut they can steal the Pokémon. Ash and his friends run into the three men from before and notice that they are holding the real Bonsly and Mime Jr. from the movie. The men explain to them that they are talent agents and were looking for a Pokémon Center because the Pokémon were very sick. They tell Ash and his friends that they saw their Pokémon on the bridge. The director receives a phone call that says that the king and queen were too sick to be in the movie so the director decides to stick with the stand-in Pokémon.

As Ash and his friends come to the set, the director explains to them the situation about needing Bonsly and Mime Jr. as stand-ins for the movie. The director asks if they could help out by being extras in the movie by just walking by the Pokémon during the scene. The scene is performed, and Team Rocket stands in front of the camera and ruins the shots. They are thrown off of the set and the scene is shot again. This time smoke disrupts the scene and Team Rocket appears to do their motto. The director knocks Jessie off of the set and Jessie knocks the director down. Ash and his friends say to them that they can't just interrupt the shooting of a scene. Bonsly uses Double Edge over and over on Jessie while Mime Jr. uses Mimic to use Double Edge on Bonsly as well. Bonsly uses Fake Tears, Mime Jr. uses Tickle and Bonsly uses Flail, as the director has the cameraman keep shooting the scene. Mime Jr. uses Teeter Dance which makes everyone confused and start dancing. The director imagines that the movie is going to be great with everyone getting up to dance, and that he will win an award for it. Jessie brings out Seviper while Ash has Pikachu use Iron Tail. Seviper uses Poison Tail and Pikachu uses Volt Tackle to send Team rocket blasting off. The director yells cut to end the episode.
