Synopsis

May displays her newly acquired ribbon as everyone is sitting on tires in a nearby field. Ash wants to hurry off to the Battle Arena as both May and Max tell him to wait. May shows him her noodle guide which shows a Noodle Restaurant famous for its "Battle Noodles". Max shows Ash an advertisement for a free battle demo of "The Strongest" at the Pokémon Dojo. The group then splits, with May and Brock going to the Noodle Restaurant and Ash and Max going to the dojo.

Outside the restaurant, May and Brock see a long line of people. The Noodle Chef, Kyle and Terri exit from the restaurant and are fighting. Terri wants Kyle to go with her to the dojo. Kyle doesn't want to since he has all those customers. Terri replies by saying that his family is more important than his customers. As May becomes fired up, Brock falls in love with the girl. They both dash off to follow Kyle and Terri. A customer in line then complains about the chef leaving. Things like "I've already paid" are mentioned.

Meanwhile with Team Rocket, Meowth has constructed a stand to sell noodles. As they argue who will cook, Ash and Max are seen walking on the sidewalk and both James and Jessie notice them. After a few seconds, they dash off towards the two as they tell Meowth that they're leaving the stall with him. Meowth starts to complain about how he always has to do all the work.

Ash and Max successfully arrive at the Dojo while Max wonders if that is really the dojo. Ash and Max ask if anyone is there as an eruption begins and an old man ejects from the stadium and lands gracefully in front of Ash and Max. The old man introduces himself as Master Hamm. Both Ash and Max exchange greetings as-well. Max then mentions that Ash made the top 8 of the last conference in Ever Grande City, surprising the master. Master Hamm then starts pushing Ash into the dojo while nearby Team Rocket are spying nearby and notice that Ash has adventured off to the Pokémon Dojo.

Inside the dojo, Max and Ash are cleaning the floor of the dojo as Master Hamm orders them around. While cleaning the floor, both Max and Ash wonder why they're doing that in the first place. They didn't mention that they want to train there. Ash mentions that he just wants to see the Template:Type2 Pokémon. Off in the distance, a strange noise starts emitting from the walls as Kyle and Terri from before walk through the doorway with both May and Brock following. Ash is surprised to see them there. May then asks why they're cleaning the floor. Ash replies that he doesn't even know himself. The young woman recognizes May as the winner of the recent Saffron Pokémon Contest, May asks if Terri was a contestant but she denies it and says that she watched it on television. She then starts talking with Master Hamm as Kyle envelopes in an argument with Master Hamm and they both go at it with Master Hamm swinging his stick wildly and both yelling back and forth. The woman then introduces her self as Terri, also revealing that she is the only student in the dojo. Terri explains that the dojo used to have lots of students, but Kyle doesn't want to take over the dojo, even if his father, the master, wants him to. If no one would take over, the dojo would have to close. Brock tries to interrupt the arguing with his own "solution", him marrying Terri and then taking over instead, but it proves to be no effect as everyone ignores him and the two are still fighting.

Master Hamm then says that a one-on-one Pokémon battle is the only way to solve this, saying that if Kyle loses he will take over the Dojo, but if he wins he is free to do whatever he wants. Kyle accepts and they both take places at opposite sides of the field. Terri asks if there's another way but the two men say no. Master Hamm then quickly calls upon Hitmonlee from which Ash looks up its data in his Pokédex. Hitmonlee does several kicks as the Pokédex talks. Kyle then quickly releases Hitmonchan from which May, much like Ash does, looks up its data in her Pokédex. Hitmonchan does several punches as the Pokédex talks. May yells to Kyle that she is rooting for him so that she can eat his noodles. Kyle tells Hitmonchan to use Mach Punch which it quickly does, it knocks Hitmonlee back as a result but it quickly recovers. Master Hamm then jumps into the air kicking forward and directs Hitmonlee to use Jump Kick but then injures his back. Ash offers to fill in for Master Hamm and Master Hamm allows him to do so, but since the battle is pointless if Kyle is battling a replacement, May offers to battle against Ash to which Kyle agrees. Kyle then mentions that he'll make her the famous "Battle Noodles" if she wins. Both then go to train their Pokémon for the battle.

Outside of the dojo, Team Rocket is spying on Ash's practice battle. Hariyama and Hitmonlee are heated in battle as each quickly deliver attacks to one another and clash in the middle. Hitmonlee's Rolling Kick proves successful and sends Hariyama spinning uncontrollably as Hitmonlee then delivers a Hi Jump Kick which knocks Hariyama back and lands on top of Team Rocket hiding in the bushes knocking Hariyama out and making unable to battle. Someone then returns it to its ball. Master Hamm then mentions that if Ash were to take over the dojo, he could go off to follow his dreams. Max mentions that he wanted Kyle to take over the Dojo.

On the other side outside the dojo, Breloom and Hitmonchan are battling it out with both competitors throwing punches. Breloom then releases a Stun Spore but Hitmonchan quickly dodges this attack and the spores then float over to Team Rocket and quickly stuns the trio. Breloom then uses Sky Uppercut and May orders Hitmonchan to do the same and then has Hitmonchan do Mach Punch which knocks Breloom out and making it unable to battle. Terri suggests that he just take over the Dojo but Kyle refuses calling the Dojo a dump. Terri then defends the Dojo and Kyle claims that he didn't mean it while Terri apologizes to saying that she always thought that they would run the Dojo together someday. To which May thinks that Terri has feelings for Kyle which makes Brock go crazy as he does every time he is rejected by a girl for another boy.

Back inside the dojo, the battle is about to begin with Hitmonlee and Hitmonchan. Kyle and Master Hamm both encourage their respective representatives. Ash commands Hitmonlee to use a Rolling Kick, May commands Hitmonchan to use Sky Uppercut. Both attacks hit the other, sending them both to the ground. Master Hamm compliments May for using that strategy to reduce damage from the Rolling Kick. Both of the Pokémon quickly recover though. May then commands Hitmonchan to use Mach Punch so Ash commands Hitmonlee to use Jump Kick, resulting in Hitmonchan being knocked to the wall, but it is still ready to fight so May has it use Comet Punch and Ash has Hitmonlee dodge it but Hitmonchan eventually hits Hitmonlee and it knocks Hitmonlee onto its back, but it struggles onto its feet. May commands Hitmonchan to use Mach Punch which forces Hitmonlee into a wall. May, being all fired up for the battle noodles, says that no one is going to stop her, then has Hitmonchan use Agility after Hitmonlee gets on its' feet and then Mach Punch, to which Hitmonlee responds with a Hi Jump Kick, knocking Hitmonchan down. Kyle and the master then mention that there's only one way for one of them to win. The one who uses their most powerful moves first wins. Max then wonders what that move is. Both May and Ash have Hitmonlee and Hitmonchan use Focus Punch, their most powerful move, but Team Rocket comes in just before they hit each other. They mention that they've converted their stand into a robot.

After reciting their motto and the smoke clears it reveals that both Hitmonlee and Hitmonchan are caught in a net! Then they try to make their get a way but Terri stops them and has her Hitmontop come out and use Rapid Spin which releases the two Pokémon and then use Mega Kick, breaking the Machine. Ash then has Pikachu use Thunderbolt, sending Team Rocket blasting off again!

Terri asks Kyle why making noodles is so important and Kyle says it all started with a bowl of noodles his dad made for him when he was younger. He wanted to make noodles just like his father's and run a successful business. Apologies are exchanged and Kyle asks what is going to happen now. Master Hamm says that Kyle can continue his noodle shop and that when he is ready to let him try some. Kyle then hugs his father while Master Hamm says that all he wanted for Kyle was for him to be happy. Terri then offers to take over the Dojo for Master Hamm. She always dreamed of having one of her own. He then accepts her offer. The master is then asked what his dream was in the first place. It turns out that he wanted to have a mobile stand to sell noodles. Kyle asks if his father can make the same noodles for him one more time, which he replies to with, "You got it!" and then makes noodles for everyone. After eating the delicious noodles, Ash and his friends head off to the Battle Arena.

Trivia

  • Ready Go! is played while Ash and May train their lent Pokémon.
  • This is the last episode of Advanced Battle, the last episode dubbed by 4Kids Entertainment, and the last episode to air on Kids' WB!.
  • Maddie Blaustein revealed that Meowth says "We're Blaustein off again!" as Team Rocket is blasting off. One has to listen very closely to hear this.
  • The dub title was an obvious pun on the phrase Hasta La Vista meaning exactly "Until I see you", or better just "See you". The title may have been chosen to mention that this would be the last episode dubbed by 4Kids.
  • This is the last episode where Mike Pollock provides the voice of the Narrator.
  • This episode is also the last to feature the Pokémon Trainer's Choice.
  • In Spain this episode premiered on June 25, 2006, almost 2 weeks before it aired in the US.

Pokémon Trainer's Choice

  • Question: Trainers, which of these Pokémon does not evolve?
  • Choices: Wynaut, Absol, Snorunt
  • Answer: OK, trainers! If you chose Absol, you were right!

Errors

  • Ash's socks are colored blue (like his shoes) by mistake in the scene where Terri tells Ash and May about the problem with Kyle and his father.
  • The Pokémon Dojo (格闘道場) is actually the Fighting Dojo (かくとうどうじょう).
  • Kyle tells Terri she will be the contest judge when really she will be the battle judge.
